Eligibility
1. Letter of support
Applicants must convince a designated venture capital fund (at least $ 200,000 CAD) or a group of angel investors (at least $ 75,000 CAD) to invest in their proposed business and receive a letter of support.
2. Language requirement
All applicants for the Start-up Visa Program must demonstrate proficiency in one of Canada’s official languages, either English or French. To qualify for the program, candidates must show the results of an approved language test demonstrating their ability at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 5 or higher. Test results must be less than two years old at the time of application.
3. Education requirement
The applicant must have completed at least one year of study at a post-secondary institution. Applicants can provide transcripts, certificates, diplomas, or degrees as proof of this requirement.
